What I would give for thirty days of no Steve/Tony/(optional ther) on that kink meme. That's all I want. Thirty days.

I would be willing to live with thirty days of nonstop Steve/Tony after the end of the ban! But just.

Well, Steve/Tony is the largest Avengers/MCU ship so...yeah. Go hand out on the thor kinkmeme. None of that there!

Last time I was there there was a bunch of Thor/Loki, and woobie!Loki + evil!Thor/Asgardians. Honestly, not really my thing either, but I feel like it is more contained in the Thor kinkmeme, so it doesn't bother me as much.

I dunno, I'd argue that Tony/Bruce is the ship to ship in MCU, seeing as how not only have the actors gotten in on it, but Marvel has licensed the term "Science Bros" and has pretty much rolled with the fact that they are pretty much buds for life now.

Just because people think it's the ship to ship doesn't mean it's popular. Most people ship them as a BrOTP, not romantically.

It's not the most popular ship though. So no, it's not the ship to ship.

I don't mind the pairing, I just totally do not ship it. I just love Tony/Pepper to much and am not really into Steve/Bucky.

I have started shipping it because there are some themes that I enjoy. I have gotten to a point in my fandom life that I just don't care about ships after like...a month of having an OTP.

I'm technically a multishipper, but I do have strong preferences, and I'm pretty picky.

I'm not in the fandom, but I get the feeling. I still pray the day will come that a round of prompting on the Hetalia kink meme passes without a single USUK request.

This is why kink memes are sometimes best avoided. If you don't like the most popular pairing (or most popular pairings) then you're going to have a bad time. (For instance, I feel sorry for anyone in the X-Men fandom who doesn't ship Charles/Erik.) I don't bother with MCU kink memes anymore because Steve/Tony does nothing for me, and while I like Thor/Loki almost every one of the prompts I read at norsekink back in the day was not my thing, and I have no real desire to go back.

AO3 is where it's at, imo. So much easier to find what you want.

I'm love X-Men, but surprising I don't ship Charles/Erik, possibly because I was into the fandom waaay before the movies and they were just old dudes to me.

That being said, the pairing doesn't bother me, though. I can see why people ship it. And there's a lot of X-men fic anyway.

That's true! There's plenty of other characters in the X-Men universe, it's just the movieverse fandom has kind of latched onto Charles/Erik and isn't letting go.

it wasn't quite as bad with wolverine/rogue during the x1/x2 days, but it WAS very popular, juggernaut pairing of the early days of the franchise for sure.

i don't know if they intend to bring quicksilver back for apocalypse (they probably are, considering how popular he turned out to be), but i think if they add a couple of young actors to specifically play off him, there'll be more shipping diversification.

Awww, Wolverine/Rogue. I'm not even into that pairing but part of me thinks it's adorable. (To be fair I don't enthusiastically ship Wolverine with anyone, so it isn't personal. And I even like him, just not always how much time the movieverse spends on him.)

Don't get me wrong though, I admit that I'm a massive Charles/Erik fan and enjoy that so many other people love them as well, but even with them being my OTP I wouldn't mind if there were other ships around. I've read a couple good Charles/Hank, and I quite liked Alex/Armando in FC, but that didn't take off, then...things happened.

From what I've heard Peter IS coming back and he's going to have a larger role. I'm all for it, but then again I fell for his charm too. (Right now I don't care about shipping him, but if he has scenes with someone in Apocalypse I bet there will be fic.)

This, pretty much. I'm usually lucky enough to like the popular pairing(or one of the popular pairings at least) in most fandoms I'm in but I have been in fandoms where that's not been the case, and while it was annoying there was nothing I could do about it so I just stopped going to the kinkmemes.

Norsekink is an... interesting place(I found some fic I liked there but I did mostly just stick to the completed fills page and read my way through that).

If I spend enough time on a kink meme, I eventually start to like the most popular pairing and/or kinks. It's like a fandom defense mechanism. XD

lmao, I feel like this is probably the best way to be in fandom! Not everyone could manage it, but it must make your experience all the more delightful!

I feel that way about a lot of pairings on kink memes. :/ Like, it's an opportunity to write and request something rare too, but 90% of the prompts and fills are still the juggernaut pairing.
