This was me back in the day with Glee. I had a vague hope the show would somehow get better, that it was all leading to some sort of deconstruction and that everyone would have to deal with the real world eventually... Thank goodness I quit the show mid-season two.

Oh, and pretty much every show it has been listed. It's like there's this vague hope inside of you that tells you "maybe it'll keep better if I just wait!". But then it doesn't. It never does.

True. I can't name a single show that would have managed to get better after tanking in quality. They just keep getting worse and worse.

Yes. Once they have jumped the metaphorical shark, it's really hard for them to recover. And then there's others that just had bad writing from the start, but at least those still have the chance to do better.
