They're clearly not trying to understand why the other side thinks that they think - sometimes it seems like they're not even really trying to prove the other side wrong, just presenting their own point of view over and over.
It's okay to think that not all sides have equal weight but you should at least be trying to engage with the other person and understand where they're coming from, even if it's totally wrong and only worthy of being dismissed.
