Hmm, how do I phrase this? When luuuuv makes everything a-okay when the characters in questions have issues a mile long that can't be fixed by just having a bf/gf.

A bf/gf often makes existing issues more complicated. Even if it solves one issue, like, say, unrequited love, it usually opens up more issues that the characters need to work through. The happiness and support of a good romantic relationship is not a magic potion for other issues that don't have anything to do with the romance in question.
