The lack of certain fic types I want to read. :( The people who go on and on and on about how people headcanon Loki as being controlled/bullied/whatever. Really, anyone who harasses other people about their headcanons.

I hate that there's hardly any fic set in the canon universe. Too many damn AUs.

I hate how people will tweet/instagram/facebook whatever the actors and talk to them about ships. Seriously, let's not make this awkward at all. I always get second hand embarrassment from that.

Slash fans who act as if the main characters' love is the only thing that matters to them or to the universe.

I ship the slash pairing in question like whoa, but it just makes them so unlikeable that it makes me go "okay, why on earth would I ever give a shit about characters like this, let alone care about shipping them?"

Plus it's totally OOC of them -- they are deeply conscientious and altruistic people, with a deep duty and devotion to their jobs and to helping other people.

The lack of a more mature perspective of my OTPs relationship. Most of the writers are teenagers though so I keep quiet and live in hope....

Possession Sues and self-insert Sues. (The former more than the latter, since they're harder to avoid--I can make a pretty good guess as to when an OC will be a horrible, horrible Sue.)

Anime fandom

-best girl arguments
-different fansub groups resubbing the same show five times, but completely ignoring the shows that don't have any
-little to no understanding on how the industry works
-circlejerking about okay-ish shows beings the worst thing ever

Cutesiness that ignores the characters' values and priorities in order to facilitate more cutesily perfect scenarios to make it easier to write cutesy shippy fic.

I know I sound like Toby Ziegler and I don't care. Cutesiness is poison in overdose.

When all other relationships are forsaken in fic so that the OTP can be simultaneously besties and soulmates.

All the pointless shipping. I realize my primary fandom is a harem comedy series, but virtually no one explores all the possibilities, they just keep on writing and re-writing the same damn fluff pieces for the same two characters and ignore everything else that went on in it.

I also hate that my other primary fandom is the dwelling space of people who hate it just for the sake of saying they can hate it.

They are tiny, the meta is weak, and the only place I can find to discuss them is packed with people who have no sense of nuance.

I hate the one dimensional interpretations of the character's motives, ideologies, and personalities in my fandom. I hate how most of those characterizations are all that I find in fic.

Hmm, how do I phrase this? When luuuuv makes everything a-okay when the characters in questions have issues a mile long that can't be fixed by just having a bf/gf.

Ship hate.
Saying people are wrong for what they ship.

Shipping wars, especially when ship fans feel the need to attack fans of a different ship.

I'm the only one who writes fic for my OTP, and I can't even get the fics I'm working on finished. There's like only three, four people writing for the fandom at all right now.

The ridiculous amounts of seme/uke stereotypical slash in the Transformers fandom. They are giant robots, many of them can lay waste to armies singlehandedly, there have got to be ways to take the porn other than delicate-fragile-uke/manly-strong-seme.

Fanon. Especially when writers don't bother checking to see if something is canon, they just assume it is.

I hate it when fandoms prematurely die (such as, when you're waiting for the next installment of a series and the creators drop the ball and there's no real conclusion).

Cliquiness/circlejerks among a small handful of writers within a fandom.

Fic readers who comment with, "You should write x/y instead of x/z instead you'd get more comments." or who miss the point of depressing/dark fic entirely and comment something like, "Aw well at least he has A!" when A pretty much just emotionally abused him/coerced him into staying with him/pretty much raped him. ¬.¬;;;

People in fandom who focus most of their energies complaining/whining/ranting/wanking about what the rest of the fandom reads/ships/chose as their favorite character.

Like, you lot spend too much time worrying about what others do during their free time. Complaining 24/7 about it has definitily made me less prone to give your ships/fics/characters a try if people like you like them.
