I have an implant (medical, not cosmetic) that will have its entire memory wiped and cease to work if I get too close to a strong magnetic field. I'm torn between thinking this is a great idea and being constantly paranoid now that people touching me will render my implant a useless hunk of very expensive metal.

It's supposed to not be strong enough to wipe things like phones or credit cards.
