...the facial erogenous zones are Ferengi, are they not? I don't recall seeing anyone caressing a Cardassian's forehead attachment (the makeup was designed to be reptilian, after all). That said. I never watched the last two seasons of DS9. So maybe they stooped to that, IDK. Never heard it referred to as "a spoon" before LOL. That's probably exactly what it was!

TL;DR: Garak is over 9000 times more awesome than even this awesome secret makes him out to be.

The Ferengi erogenous zones are their ears (so every time they talk about 'lobes' they pretty much mean 'balls', oo-mox is equivalent to masturbation, etc).

I don't *think* they ever talk about the Cardassian face spoons but I might easily be forgetting something. That said, I have to assume it's the kind of thing that you don't touch. It just looks like the kind of thing that would be really sensitive.

I don't remember them mentioning the spoons in any other context except in slurs (spoonheads), but necks have some significance (Cardassian neck trick). So maybe the ridges could be more sensitive than the bone/cartilage formation on the forehead?

They never mentioned anything in the series but the spoon thing actually is a common trope in the fanfictions of this fandom - a.) as a particulary erogenous zone and b.) that it gets darker in color (usually blue) when aroused. A bit like with dinosaurs (head frill of the triceratop e. g.) which kind of goes back to the whole reptilian thing a little.

In canon female cardassians usually have spoons with a blue-ish color - I read somewhere that it was first thought to be a Make-Up thing to distinguish male and female cardassians when in uniform. But later on it wasn't mentioned anywhere again.
Plus this happened first with the Cardassians in DS 9 - earlier in other series (TNG e.g.) they had no color in the spoon at all. And in later seasons of DS 9 they sometimes showed Garak with a blueish spoon as well but without any further explanation why. I suppose that's what gave the ff writers the idea in the first place.

I like Cardassian back and shoulder ridges better, but the spoon will do. :)
