Question about teeth

(Anonymous) 2014-07-05 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Teeth are a coating of enamel over a soft core, right? So, is it even possible for someone to file their teeth into still-functional pointy teeth, or would that end up killing the teeth?

Technically possibly - but I'd rec going to your dentist to have it done, since enamel can't be replaced if you file too much off.

"Let me tell you even though I'm a dental professional I recognize that many people in today's society find a number of ways to be different and gain their own particular mode of special recognition....While your not attempting to attain what others have already attained, you are now attempting to achieve a goal. The answer to your question is "yes". you can sharpen your teeth on a "Do-it Yourself" basis...You can achieve it by using a Diamond coated nail file which you can purchase at any drug store. You can also use an over the counter product called "Ora-Jel" to help reduce any pain level attendant with the filing down of the teeth.

Having said all that let me caution you that the more you reduce the tooth surface you increase the possibility of tooth decay occurring as well as the nerve possibly dying as a result of continuous heat and cold shock caused by the reduced thickness of tooth surface that would have ordinarily protected the nerve from trauma.///If you are truly decision bent on having "Fangs"..you would be wise to have them created professionally. A dentists could reduce them to a stump and then have a ceramist create the "fang" as a crown. That way you would have the fang you want and at the same time have a tooth that isn't going to get decay or die on you....and the color can be what ever you want it to be. Good luck and I still wish you well."
