It's funny. I loved Tatl. I loved her to bits. However, I always felt like she was never meant to stay with me. (Which was stated blatantly in the storyline.) Navi, on the other hand. I think was Link's close friend and he did go looking for her. So she was supposed to stay with him and I dunno. The connection was different and good in its own way.

I totally headcanon their friendship too. She would be really the only constant and calm presence in his life at the time.

Haha, well. Maybe I'd like her more if I replayed the game? I liked her little brother more than her, I remember, and wished he would be my fairy instead. lol But yeah, thinking about it, Navi would've been the only real constant companion he had, who could understand what was happening to him and what he had to do. Link isn't a "real" character, of course, but if you try and humanize him a little, you'd imagine how weird it'd be to have that seven year time jump when you're a kid, and lots of the people you knew don't even remember or recognize you anymore. With the Deku Tree gone, Navi would've been the only real guiding force he had. And for whatever reason, she could time warp too, so I'm sure having her with him made things easier in a way beyond Z-Targeting.

Eh, Tatl isn't for everyone. I understand that.

You hit the nail on the head pretty much. :) But then she forgot him and he lost his only companion.

Navi gave me BFF and motherly vibes (I was actually upset when she left). Tatl on the other hand was like a reluctant teen babysitter who hates kids (who aren't her baby brother) and is forced to look after (ie: follow) you because you're the only one who knows how to operate everything.

Yes. I think that's why I loved both. Also, Tatl grew to like you by the end. That was nice.

I was sad when Navi left too. AND WE NEVER GET A REUNION WTF.
