unless it's based on something other than the light novels, it's that his GGO avatar was so goddamn feminine that even other players think he's female until proven otherwise. Also ALO was like the nadir of that series, GGO goes back to Kirito being the giant mary sue that he always was but nothing actually terrible that I remember, but the arc after that I remember being actually really interesting.
