It happens with rpers too and I can kind of get it? Not exactly, but sometimes a character ends up developing in a way that makes it very hard to force them back into the direction you originally intended when you weren't expecting it to happen.

So, add that to writers who tend to um...get a little too attached to their characters/occasionally seem to forget that they're fictional characters [not that they'd admit that] and you get the whole "no control" thing.

At least, that's how it seems to work in the rp scene, but I assume it carries over to the writing scene as well.

Yeeeah, that sounds like some folks I've run across. Even more so if you add the "Oh don't worry! I'll be gentle when rp smut!" in response to "I don't smut." -shudders-
