Re: Eh, I think lots of Trekkies never got into ENT

I really liked it too: the theme song was terrible but the credits were beautiful so I always watched them anyway. It was technically not even a retcon having T'Pol on the ship - she wasn't in Starfleet - so it really annoys me when people use that as an excuse not to watch. If people don't like it on its own merits that's completely fine, but the people who like to put it down by being Trekkier than thou are deeply annoying. There were plenty of bad episodes, but season 4 (minus the final stupid slap in the face) was magnificent.

Also, I've only watched about 10 episodes of Voyager and didn't like it at all, but I don't go around saying that's "not really Star Trek"!

I've watched big chunks of all the series. I think I've seen almost all of Enterprise. I missed pretty nearly entire seasons of TNG, DS9, and VOY. I like TOS, and the animated Star Trek, and I used to have Star Trek comic books.

The one incarnation I just went NOPE at was the J.J. Abrams movies, and that's partly because I lost all respect for Abrams after watching Alias.

I think Enterprise really isn't that bad, or that "wrong" or un-Trek. And the Andorians are really well played. But if the Temporal Cold War is a turn-off to someone, they're going to be alienated from ENT. Just how it went.

Which is fine! It's just the "it's not REAL Trek" that gets to me. I actually didn't watch any of the TNG movies after the first 1.5 because they were just that bad, but I didn't go around telling people they weren't Trek.

And totally agreed on the Andorians! I actually liked the Temporal Cold War aspects - it was the Xindi storyline (right up until we found out about all the different races and their infighting) that I didn't like.
