I haven't read SPN fic in a while, might check her out.

She's not everyone's cup of tea from what I remember. I think she writes wincest to start with.

Eh. I'm okay with Wincest. Not my main ship, but I can abide it.

I miss her SOOOOOO much. I started reading her Oakland A's baseball RPS fic and it was awesome. And when she started writing Supernatural? I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I don't know where she's gone, but I hope she's all right. She was pretty open about her substance abuse.

First fanfic I EVER read was candle beck, a super angsty and traumatizing non SPN AU Wincest with one of them a cop and the other a local bum. It fucked me up and pretty much set the tone for the kind of fic I flocked too until I left SPN fandom

Randomly coming by to rec a fic that I think is better than some published books I've read. It's set in the Sherlock Holmes Downey films and is Sherlock/John/Mary, endgame. Very well written. http://archiveofourown.org/works/98886

Well, this is kind of relevant to the secret because the secret is reccing the best fanfic author they know, and the commenter is response is reccing the best fic they've ever read. Plus, people have off topic threads in secret comments all the time.

Like, this might not have been the best place to post this, but your reply was 100% an overreaction and way unnecessarily mean.

I wondered why that name sounded familiar until I remembered they wrote all my favorite Josh/Sam fics from West Wing however many years ago. I had recently been meaning to read one in particular, thanks for reminding me!

Do you mean in all the different fandoms you've read, or just the best in the Supernatural fandom?
I'll check them out but I have to admit I'm skeptical about this. I've been reading fanfiction in a ridiculous number of fandoms for 13 years and I can't even say I have a #1 better than everyone else out there author (although Tabaqui comes pretty close), but hey everyone has the right to their own opinions.

I can see why you'd be sceptical. If nothing else, people's taste can be very individual.

Seems to me that she has a real way with words though. And she sure does write an amazing, if dark flavor of fucked up Sam and Dean.

I've read their stuff, and I wouldn't call it terrible. I'd agree with OP that's it's high quality writing, in terms of technical artistry. I didn't enjoy a lot of it because it's not my preferred style for storytelling.

Tabaqui says the auuthor is good upthread and Tabaqui pretty much rocks my world so *shrugs*.

Oh god, I was obsessed with her writing back in the day. So so good, easily my favorite author in over a decade of reading fic. I started with her SPN stuff ('Look the other way' destroyed me) and then fell down the rabbit hole of MLB. She was really prolific too and I highly recommend all of her Oakland's A's fic.

I still check her LJ every once in a while to see if she's come back...

I do that too, anon. I hope wherever she is, she's okay.

Look the Other Way destroyed me too. At the end I just sat and stared at my screen. She really is a fantastic author.
