I know what you're trying to say, but your analogy is a mess.

Yes, yes it is. Glad someone else mentioned it.

Here's my attempt:

Let's say you're invited to a party where everyone contributes to pay for the cost of the food. You go to the party and the host is serving bland-as-hell tacos. Some people like them, but you're just standing there with your horrible taco and thinking, "this is what I paid for?"

And then some idiot unhelpfully comes along and says, "Stop complaining. You can always go and pay extra for some salsa from the host to put on your taco -- then it's delicious!"

And the only thing you can think is "Motherfucker, I've already paid for this goddamn piece of shit taco. I shouldn't have to line the host's pockets even MORE just to make it not taste like ass. FUCK THAT."

Now that's a more appropriate analogy.

Yes. OP needs to look up the definition of false equivalence.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too.

How about it's like you ordered a club sandwich and it shows up without any bread and when you complain the waiter tells you that you have to order the bread separately. When you order a sandwich it's assumed that it comes with everything that makes it a complete sandwich. You shouldn't have to go out of your way to make sure it's got everything a sandwich should logically have. If I order a sandwich and end up with what looks like a shitty salad I'm not gonna enjoy my lunch, no matter how many times people assure me that I just ordered wrong and it actually is a great sandwich.
