I agree with that. I'm just saying that because the OP was talking about devotion, I meant that quite often people devote themselves to stupid things but don't realize the "bigger picture" until it's really needed.

*shrugs*, that was my interpretation of Utena, anyhow.

You know what, I misread you; for some reason I thought you said Utena didn't care about Anthy to the end. Looking at what you actually said, I mostly agree; I'd quibble about Utena caring about Anthy during most of the series, but it would probably come down to us having different definitions of 'care'.
