Yeah, I know some women like it, but the point isn't for it to be sexually appealing. The boobs-and-butt pose is meant to be sexual.

How do you know that the point of the beefcake shots isn't partially to appeal to women?

it might be partially in some cases, but if we're talking about media that's basically only being (or only has been, in the past) marketed to men, then it's more likely to be appealing to male fantasy.
