It's the association with porn and persecution complexes. I have a few friends who are a part of the local fur community, as well as those online too, so it's not like I'm unaware that it's not as unpleasant as many make it out to be. Although I'm not a furry, I'm a fan of the art and will take commissions from people who want me to draw their fursona.

The prevalence of stupidity is reasonable reason for dismissal though. Bullying, not so much of course.

Yeah, I'm sorta in the same boat. I love comics with anthros (Shutter (tiger lawyer)and Saga right now.) I play beast races where available in RPGs. That's about the extent of it.
