The popularity of that opinion probably depends on the circles you run in, but I fucking hate love triangles. Especially if the love triangle is set up as "loving, caring, obviously right guy" and "kind of dangerous, asshole-ish jerk" and gets solved by reveling (what an original plot twist) that the right guy actually isn't so nice after all and the jerk is actually a jerk-with a heart of gold and the girl's long lost soul mate.

Ugh, I know. It's all just ridiculous. Or when the nice female character steals the guy because she's nice and it's okay for her to do that to the hussy. O_o

I hate love triangles too. I think they can be done well but most of the time they're just used for pointless and shitty 'conflict'.

Idk I'd just like to see a movie or TV show with a love triangle in it where the two dudes are being awful over the female lead and at the end of it the dudes are like 'which one do you want?' and she goes 'neither' and swans off with a dude/lady who's actually been there the entire time for her instead of stroking their own ego the entire time.

Yeah, I especially hate those particular love triangles. They seem to operate under some weird Nice Guy rules that I've never actually seen in real life.
