O/T, but I have to admit the phrase "African-American princess" (or ANY "-American princess" puzzles the hell out of me, when it's apparently implying actual princesses.

I never actually got around to watching Princess and the Frog, but wasn't there some back door logic there about how the boy was actually a prince from somewhere thus making her a princess by marriage?

Usually I'm right there with you on this one, anon.

She married a prince, this making her a princess, at least by simplified Disney universe logic.

Plus, you know, singing alligators and fire flies make no sense from a biological perspective, so an American born princess isn't that far of a stretch.
