Wow, I'm glad you didn't voice that out loud because that is a LOT of anger over a pretzel bun, anon.

Though it was rude and unprofessional for them to just tell you you didn't order one. The appropriate response - whether you ordered one or not - would have been "oh, sorry about that, here's a pretzel bun" and everyone moves on with their day.

It's weird how some people find it so much preferable to lie when telling the truth and fixing the problem takes so much less effort and gets better results. It's like they're so afraid of confrontation/admitting a mistake/getting in trouble/not knowing the answer that they'd rather put in the extra effort to concoct a lie and maintain it in the face of evidence to the contrary even though that just makes the situation worse and angers people who were not previously mad.

Yep, and anyone who has worked in fast food for any period of time knows that a mistake like using the wrong bun is a really easy mistake to make, and a really easy one to fix, and nobody except idiots and assholes is going to give you a hard time for it. Just own up.
