I have always assumed that if Erik got his way and humans were wiped out, that eventually they would start discriminating against telepaths/empaths. Perhaps not during Erik's time as leader/ruler but eventually it would happen. Mutants would probably start with just being suspicious of telepaths. Eventually a criminal telepath will do something that will make everyone else go, SEE! We told you! They can control our minds. They are dangerous. Something needs to be done.

Of course, it won't happen overnight but soon there will be legislation against mutants with mind based powers. Maybe they will have to register or be marked in some way to warn others. Eventually the public will clamor that They need to be controlled. They are not like us. They can make us think whatever they want. Maybe they will be controlled by collars or some kind of serum. But, it'll happen because there is always an Other that is too dangerous.

I read a short fic about this I think.

The victor of this war holds no bearing on a telepath. Mutants? Humans? Doesn't matter. The 'who' can change but the fear will not.

There is no end to segregation. At least not when it concerns a telepath

Do you feel that it is a fairly accurate summation of most populations in history? Asking as someone with no history/sociology/anthropology background and is just talking out their ass. :P
