Laurel definitely had a downward spiral in season 2 (a very realistic one in my opinion. Considering all the shit she went through, I was just surprised it didn't happen sooner. I also think it gave her a lot of great scenes with her father since he has also struggled with addiction) but she recovered from it and ended up being being a pretty big asset to everyone. She was even the one who caught on the villain's plan way before anyone else. I'm guessing for Thea you're referring to the reveal about her father? I thought adding that in was a little unnecessary but I'm curious to see what will happen with them in season 3. For the most part, I enjoyed that Thea was developed into a more mature character in season 2 after being such a brat (who admittedly had good reasons for being fucked up) for a lot of season 1. I actually really liked the whole Thea/Roy thing so I'm hoping they reconcile

Oh well, I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway, anon.

I just can't forgive the show for giving us a love-trinagle-death in the S1 finale (I have been watching WAY too many shows that have gone that route recently and I'm completely sick of it). I also can't stand Oliver and I was mostly sticking around for a handful of other characters, and mostly Felicity. The stuff about Laurel's breakdown isn't necessarily my issue with her, it was more the attitude surrounding it. And then the bullshit with her and her sister and Oliver. No thanks.

But at least Thea gets better?

Ah yeah, I could definitely live without ever having to watch another love triangle. It's one of my least favorite things about the show so I can definitely see how it would be offputting for you.

Maybe you'll like The Flash? It seems like it'll be a fun show

The Flash is actually why I tried watching Arrow, actually. When Arrow first aired I gave up after three episodes, and figured since The Flash looked interesting I'd give Arrow another try. It was definitely better the second time around while marathoning it, and I'm hoping The Flash doesn't give us the same shit Arrow did.

I have high hopes for The Flash. It already seems to be a bit less dark and edgy than The Arrow (even Ollie's cameo was pretty light hearted considering he's a very broody guy on his own show) and I'm so excited for Barry/Iris. I hope they don't fuck it up!

I mean, I like Arrow (as I'm sure you can tell) but I love superhero stuff that's a bit more lighthearted and doesn't take itself super seriously. It looks like The Flash has a bit of angst, which is fine, but I'm hoping they don't go overboard
