Anybody that acts like their personal opinion of how much a fandom sucks is objective fact. Sherlock, Teen Wolf, Supernatural, whatevr. More, if they back off after bashing a fandom with it's just my opinion! I can say what I want!!! HDU question my opinion?

Conversely, people assuming that when you say you didn't care for something, you mean it was shit. No. I simply didn't care for it or it didn't interest me. I am not saying it sucks; I can still see that it has quality and value to other people who aren't me.

Ahha yeah

That remind me of this rant I saw on tumblr once where this person was all "TV Tropes is shit" (which that I didn't have a problem with because people have a right to an opinion)

What I had a problem with was that one of their two or three reasons was "because they dared to tell me that my opinion that Katniss is a Canon Mary Sue is an opinion and not objective fact." They just seemed so freaking angry and offended that someone told them their opinion was an opinion and how this meant that the whole site was going downhill because they didn't treat this opinion as if it were a fact.

I'm like "did you miss the part where they list ALL Mary Sue-related opinions under YMMV even in the case of obvious trollfics? Or is your opinion so special that it deserves to be treated differently? They did that because they realize the term is so loaded and subject to opinions. It was to cut down on infighting on the pages and edit wars.

(and tbh I don't trust the judgement of someone who acts like that about their opinions of "who's a Mary Sue". That attitude of "my opinion is fact and anyone who says otherwise" just tells me that they won't take any view but theirs into account.)
