*g* It was usually the hero being held captive and tied up for me.

When I was seven I read pretty much every Karl May book I got my hands on. There were plenty of scenes of Old Shatterhand, Winnetou or Kara Ben Nemsi being tied up by their enemies. Tied to trees, tied to the stake, tied up in the belly of a pirate ship...and so on. It was even better when they were hurt. The secret a few days ago made me think back on them fondly. *g*

I found similar scenes in the Davy Crockett stories. Or reading the Franco-Belgian comics. Or Hal Foster's Prince Valiant.

I vaguely remember prince Valiant from my youth...maybe this warrants further investigation.

Psst, Danny Phantom has a ridiculous amount of this, if you can get past the part where it's for kids.

I'm not going to lie, when I poked into the Danny Phantom portion of AO3 recently, I was disappointed by the lack of creepy Danny/Vlad fanfic.

Completely unfamiliar with the canon, but I'll check it out probably.

I highly recommend it. Lots of delightfully creepy undertones in some of the episodes. :P

I couldn't watch a certain part of Sleeping Beauty as a kid and I had no idea why for a long time. And then it all made sense.
