I get you not wanting a name, but you have to understand, we basically all look alike. Some of us have distinctive writing styles, but otherwise, we're pretty hard to tell apart. It's the price you pay for being anon -- people aren't gonna know you're "you."

I don't want to be seen as "unique", I want people to judge me on what I've written. Instead of trying to figure out if I'm the spreadsheet anon, the fedora tipping anon or the radical feminism anon, then deciding I'm probably terrible and have something to hide, "otherwise I'd be logged in".

So, where are these comments happening where people are like "you must be terrible because you're not logged in?" I don't think that's actually all that common?

Happens when trolling anons are trolling. People forget the trolling aspect and say stuff like "anons are at it again, time to put IP logging on!" because anons are just here to piss people off. Also anons get accused of same-anoning lots of time (which can happen but doesn't mean it's always the case). A few months ago someone suggested that F!S should turn anon posting off since we're a small community now.

It's starting to sound more and more like whining so I'm going to stop there. There's just a general feeling of defiance over anons that I can't shake off. I don't lose sleep over it though :).

But when people say "anons" they are not really saying "all anons". The people who are "at it again" are anons. So, they're correct? IP logging helps case track down those specific anons who are spamming unwanted things, like suicide suggestions and gore gifs. I think most of us disagree with disabling anon (I mean, way to make the comm even less active.

I've been around some anon memes and mixed groups like this and I just don't get other anons who take it personally when people say something about "anons" in general.

When I comment anon, I like to use a proxy in case people try to identify me by my IP address. I'm really serious about it.

Now that you mention it, I went and looked at a response to a non-anon comment of mine. Wow, no IP logging! That's nice!

Well, sorry. I don't know who you are so I can't adjust my behavior according to your wishes.
