Embrace the cheese, it is better than you think. SF doesn't have to be grim, gritty, or realistic, it can be as flamboyant as the best pride parade ever was. When did we start thinking that SF had to be earth based and grim (or horrible and grim at least) anyway? And I think that a spin off with the Irish cat-man would be awesome. I'd love a new space opera show.
