Yup, this. It's not his 'powers' it's his character and how he affects the character dynamics that makes him interesting and have a purpose(I mean Sam is probably the most well-adjusted out of all of the Marvel characters so far, and I love him for it. He's the guy that's gone through the shitter and come out on the other side okay, and that's important to see).
