Huh. I loved XY, but...well, like a lot of other people here, I didn't primarily love it for the story. Team Flare was pretty underwhelming (though I liked their outfits) and Lysandre was extremely transparent and kinda boring. I did like the bit with AZ, and I'm not going to lie, I cried at the end. But while I liked his character, nothing much else about the story was super engaging. (I miss the Gym Leaders being involved in the overall plot like Gen V, too.)

I LOVED the 3D graphics though and, unpopular opinion alert!, I also love Mega Evolution. (I will admit though that I was very skeptical of it when it was first revealed.)

I still hold that IV was the weakest generation, though I did like it. Just...not as much as any of the others. VI might be my second-least-favorite, but only because of how much I loved everything else, not out of any dislike for VI. It was still really enjoyable IMO. (Also, interestingly, many of what I'd call its biggest shortcomings were also present in other generations...)
