Since you're the moderator, couldn't you check IPs before saying that? I know I meant what I said, and I'm not trying to start a fight--just stating my opinion.

Unless they're being forced to do it, they don't "have to" do anything. They chose a job that involves killing, and in my eyes that makes them a killer. There are other jobs to be had, that doesn't involve hurting anyone.

And I don't really know what you expect me to respond with to that! Like er... okay? Go forth and believe such, I made no moral judgments here about the mice or probable lab work! I just think most of these anons are trying to start wank. Regardless of who is right or wrong, they're looking for a fight.

Why not? If you really have only made one of these comments, all these others could be the same person trying to make wank, as they sound very similar. You don't know if they are or not, you've only made one, right?

You can be the exception to the "most of these"!

BTW, in an ANON comm, I am glad to hear the mod is not using his powers for evil and not constantly IP logging and identifying posters for reasons as trivial as making a point.

Though I admit I also assumed all these hateful comments directed at the OP were made by the same person because:
- they are identical, all exactly the same, using different words
- they are all over-the-top, not a single moderate or reproachful one in the lot
- all are very verbally violent, as if the OP was somehow inherently evil
- none acknowledge any of the replies posted to any of the aggressive comments to the OP

But I can live without knowing if my assumption is correct. In fact, I'd rather NOT know because whatever the truth, either we have a lot more unbalanced people in this comm than I previously thought or else someone is seriously excited by this conversation and in need of real life help asap.

I wouldn't do that unless the trolling were going on for a lot longer than this. I mean, I've IP logged before and called people out for creating fake drama in their own threads, but only because that whole "radfem troll anon" type stuff, or similar wank, had been going on for weeks beforehand. One thread on one day isn't going to call for that.

And even then, I've never revealed an actual IP or person connected to the IP, and I can promise I won't do that. Only that 'some anon was replying to themselves to try and spur wank,' if that becomes necessary.

Agreed with all the 2nd part, though. Even if it wasn't the anon I was replying to, all the rest of them were similar enough to each other to be pretty suspect. But hey, I could be wrong.

He can't check IPs on comments if they were made when IP logging wasn't on.

There are other jobs to be had, but there's a probably a reason OP choose this one -- such as that the work done is this lab goes toward saving other lives. It's fair to talk about the ethics of using mice in those kinds of experiments, but it's not fair to dismiss someone doing those experiments as a killer, especially if their motivation is to prevent people from dying.

But you don't know that that's their motivation! Nowhere in their secret does it state that they do it for the sake of saving HUMAN lives. I'm personally against animal testing, period, but I know that's not the case for most. However, here? OP might just as well be testing makeup or some other nonsense for all you know.

Right. We don't know. You're assuming they chose this job because they want to take lives; my point is that they could have chosen it because they want to save lives. You are choosing to see them in the worst possible light because of your beliefs.
