Messi couldn't carry the NT himself, but it's basically a problem he himself crated, as he's the one that didn't want Tevez to be called up.

Having a spare Tevez around when Aguero's currently made of glass would've helped.

Obviously I wanted Garrett Richards in, but Sale is damn good. I'm really happy Erick Aybar is in now though, he's having just a terrific year. It was very disheartening that the Angels have the second-best record in all of baseball and initially were sending just Trout. :\ And Howie Kendrick shoulda gone last year. /soapbox

No no, I'm actually quite fond of your A's! I think they're gonna win it all this year. It's just hard when your second-favorite AL team is your division rival. Who knows, maybe even a Bay Bridge World Series!

Dodgers need to get over themselves. I watch 'em for pitching, Puig shenanigans, but mostly out of love and respect to Vinny.

Careful. Last time the Giants faced the A's in the series, the earth itself was rent asunder beneath their feet. Never forget that baseball is magic.

The A's are fantastic this year. It's amazing to me, honestly, how good they are despite not having any traditional "stars" really. It's such a well-balanced, deep roster and it makes them very fun to watch. I think this might be their year.

on the one hand, I'm excited because Minneapolis got the All Star game, and it's cool that there's so many people coming into town.

on the other, I am going to have to fight every single one of those people to get to the Welcome to Night Vale show tomorrow night because the theater is maybe 5-10 blocks from the stadium. #nerdworldproblems

I'm glad Koji Uehara is in. He and John Lester are pretty much the only reasons to watch the Red Sox this season. (Okay, this last week has been nice...because of the rookies, lol.)

And that's about it, really. I rarely watch the All-Star game, and I won't have the chance this year, so I'm not terribly excited about who's in and who isn't.

I wish Posey was there because he's Buster Posey but I can't rightly say who he should have replaced. It's been a really weird year for the Giants, almost no one is having a fantastic season and yet they're really competitive.

I wish Tulo had chosen Bumgarner for the derby though, because that would be hilarious. Also, I'm really glad Chris Sale got in on the final vote - he is so filthy good and so fun to watch.
