I also ship Adam Parrish/Happiness. Have you read the Raven Cycle, by Maggie Steifvater? It is filled with heart-breaking characters.

I first discovered it in my local library. You should check and see if yours has a copy. Largely so you can read it for your own pleasure, but also so I have someone to discuss this book (and the feelings it grew in the dark depths of my shriveled black heart) with.
