Same. Piper is privileged and oblivious.

Alex is straight up manipulative and toxic.

I love Piper but the worst part of her character is easily her relationships with Alex and Larry. I'd much rather see her relationships with her family or the people in the prison.

That's interesting, because reading the article linked above about the differences between the book and the series - both of those relationships are highly fictionalized in the show. For one, Alex was never in the same prison as Piper, and for two, evidently her relationship with Larry was pretty non-turbulent in the book.
