I don't think it's wrong to refuse to date/marry/have sex with people of a different race. Obviously it would be totally wrong to refuse to hire someone for a job, or discriminate against them in other ways, because of their race, but dating/sex is different. No one is obligated to date or sleep with someone, so not matter how silly or petty or racist their reason is for not wanting to, I don't think it's wrong.

I don't think it's inherently wrong either - I just do think people should be honest enough with themselves to acknowledge the reasons why they don't want to. Which often DOES have to do with ideas they grew up with, even subconsciously.

I think reasons matter in that sort of case. Don't want to date a member of X race because you don't find that member attractive? Fine. Don't want to date a member of X race because all members of X race are lying cheating drug addicts? Might want to examine your reasoning.

Of course, I also think not wanting to date a member of another race because mixed race relationships have a lot of baggage is a valid reason. Mixed race relationships pretty much guarantee you'll end up in a racist cesspool at some point, and some people just don't want to deal with that.

Nobody is obligated to date or sleep with anyone (any individual), for ANY reason.

But if you say "I will never date a [insert race] person" just stating it like that I'm gonna think there's probably something going on there.

Nobody should have to have sex with anyone they don't want to. But it doesn't mean they shouldn't also do some serious self-examination for why they wouldn't want to date/have sex with a person because they're of a certain background. Insisting that you should be able to avoid dating black people and likewise insisting there's nothing racist about that has a strong whiff of denial about it.

Well, if you're not attracted to someone, you're not attracted to them. Same with a whole race. If you're not attracted to a race of people, you likely won't date anyone of the group.

If you're an asshole about it, that's another story.
