Re: Someone asked to translate a fic of mine. Opinions?

As far as posting to ao3/ff, or other archives, I'd actually prefer if the translator posted it to their own if if IF they had their own profile so that the folk following them for the translations know what's up. Kind of like with podfic I guess.

Still, doesn't seem that they do, so I don't see what's wrong with you posting the translation yourself. Especially seeing that if it's only available in a certain forum, posting it to the main archives helps signal boost the story to more readers and potential translators if that's the case (like with podfic, I'm more likely to waste less time being tentative about asking the author for permission if I already know they're open to it).
