Re: Common tropes/cliches you hate

I hate that trope that's popular in a lot of jdramas and manga and etc where... let's say a Boy and Girl are dating or at least interested in each other, but the Boy (and it's always the boy) has some dark past, or enemies out to hurt him, or some kind of thing that he's decided is too much for Girl to handle...

and instead of just telling her about the situation directly, or letting her down easy during their breakup, decides the only way he can break up with her is to become a GIANT ASSHOLE and treat her like shit until he's pushed her away. out of fucking nowhere, he goes from a nice guy to a complete jerk, and the girl is like "??? the fuck?"

WHY CAN'T ANYONE JUST HAVE AN ADULT CONVERSATION

This is the most annoying trope imo. Hate it so much.

Yes, I hate this. And I hate that after he's acted like an asshole the girl finds out (usually through friends) the reason why and will end up being ok with it because it wasn't really his fault and he was just trying to protect her. Ugh.
