Wow, they really queerbait for the slash crowd.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
the show's creator is gay tho

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, and?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
So is one of Sherlock's creators. And they do it, too.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh for fucks sake, if two men just touch each other how does become queerbaiting? Don't men ever touch each other in real life?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, no homo, here.

Because every time I see "no homo" I must quote this:

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"No homo" cries the team at the dig site. The head archaeologist sinks to his knees, sobbing. He has dedicated his entire career to the pursuit of homo habilis, an important part of the hominid evolutionary line. All his work led up to this archaeological dig site. But now, his whole life has been for nothing. There is no homo….there is only Australopithecus.

I love this

No. All men must have one inch of air between them at all times, and they are not allowed to make eye contact for more than a second and a half. But if they make eye contact for less than half a second, that's also queerbaiting because it looks like they might be purposely trying to avoid gazing longingly into each others eyes.

Don't you know this? Men are not like women. Men's lives are a constant struggle to resist TEH GAY.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I long for the day when it's once again normal for men to have intense, intimate friendships wherein they declare their love for one another and walk down the street with their arms linked and no one makes assumptions because they could be gay (which would be acceptable), but they could also just as easily be really great friends (which would also be acceptable).

(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Things are getting so bad these days, that even women can't do that, anymore.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
IKR? Those darn homosexuals!

(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess ya conveniently missed the part where I said I'd like for both being gay and being involved in an intense, intimate friendship to be acceptable.

To be more clear: I want affection and emotional connection to be okay. Period. And I want assumptions not to be made simply because people don't care. In other words, I want homosexuality to be normalized, and I want intense friendship to be normalized, too.

Men's lives are a constant struggle to resist TEH GAY.

Well, that part's true. My god, have you SEEN men? We're incredibly sexy! At any given moment, I'm devoting MOST of my attention to just not fucking random dudes passing by. I can barely keep my hands off MYSELF most days.

No way they do, and they better never. How else am I going to get my rocks off if men touching and opening up to each other about FEELINGS is as common as grass on lawns.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
lol "queerbaiting". go back to tumblr

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not like I care about queerbaiting and queer representation on TV. What's the latest figure, 1.6 percent from the CDC? Maybe 2 or at the most 3 percent of the population who will cop to it? Not a lot to base commercial network viewership on.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
so all tv should be for straight white people then.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever. There's probably a higher percentage of out gay characters on TV than there is in real life.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah
no it's not

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
no it's just gay subtext
