I know that happened, but...I don't necessarily remember when?

It was towards the beginning I think? Before the main characters escaped the city?

I just fired up my rip; You're right, for some reason I didn't remember it in that scene.

It was when Lord Business was testing Good Cop/Bad Cops loyalty by having him cover his parents with the "Kraggle". Good Cop couldn't do it and Lord Business had his face wiped off with a Q-tip dunked in nail polish remover.

I didn't remember that scene being as fucked up as it seems to be when you describe it. Wow.

Because it was done in a silly manner. You can get away with some awful stuff if you do it silly. (See: Monty Python's "It's only a scratch." scene from The Holy Grail.)

I dunno, I thought it was a direct reference to some of the more horrific scenes from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Which is to say, horror in a "family" film played for horror. Over the top enough to not make an audience go crazy in fear, but truly relateable peril in the context of the film. I don't want somebody rubbing the faces off my lego dudes, especially if they're sentient characters!

That movie was worth it if only to hear Laim Neeson's "Good cop" voice. It was adorable. And to think that it came out of the same guy who did Aslan and keeps on playing bad ass characters whose family members keep on getting kidnapped.

We just finished watching this movie for the first time, and I agree. That voice cracked me up.

Yes!

Yes, that movie is full of adorable stuff (Batman mentioning that he only works in black! Or very, very dark grey... ) but choosing Liam Neeson as the voice of Bad Cop/Good Cop's voice is absolutely inspired.

Seriously, I think I would have seen this movie just for that. Not that I have a crush on Liam Neeson. Of course not! (*)

I don't care about how crassly commercial it is, I have already re-watched it half a dozen time and it lifts up my spirits each time. Everything is awesome!

(*) OK, I totally do...

Next to hearing Charlie Day as Benny, Good Cop's voice may've been my favorite thing in the movie. "Hello!"
