The only consistent one I have is "realism". I tend to write a lot of stuff to "fix" either canon or fanon when it feels ridiculous, unrealistic, and beyond the capacity of suspension of disbelief.

Also, if left unbeta'd, random tense changes and long, run-on sentences.

Otherwise, everything is genre and fandom specific.

Ahh that sounds cool. I like a good fixfic (though not the ones that are just like "It would have been better if Harry got with Hermione/Luna/My OC" or "everybody hates [least fave character]" )

Really good fixfics that make me think are even better.

What I am for with my fix-it fics is, well, more thinking - namely, when I see canon where the character development is nonsensical or nonexist, I try to expand on it more.

Oh. That sounds sensible.

I wish someone with that approach would take a whack at a fixfic for Phantom Planet. That whole episode was a hot mess of things that were either stupid, character derailment/OOC or just didn't work right.

I'm afraid I'm not even sure what that is, so I can't help you. I write realistic fix-it fics for Merlin and MCU fandoms. :) (And I had written one for a specific sub-genre of Harry Potter fanfic, but I lost over a year of work on that when my laptop it was one died, and this was before I got into the habit of backing things up).

Ahh allright.

If I didn't have so much on my plate I'd try to write it myself. Though I would also love to see a certain writer in the fandom try to write it, although I know she's a fan of how things went in the series. So I don't know if it would be wise to suggest it.

I know that in her fic she actually made things I didn't like in the episode work in the fic. *Shrug* Oh well. The fic she already has is probably as close as I'm going to get for a fix fic.

Ah. No wonder it sounded familiar. It's been so long since I've seen Danny Phantom, and I tried looking around for fanfic once but I couldn't really find much, sadly.

Well there's a lot of fanfiction now. There's a nice amount of fic on A03 for it.

Yeah, I've seen that. Most of that is just...not the kind of stuff I'm interested in. *shrugs* But still, good to know there's an active fandom for it! :)
