Most anime doesn't sell well and fujoshi oriented anime has an advantage since the choices are more limited.

That's true enough. I think there's not more anime aimed at women being produced because companies are afraid to take risk. Anime doesn't sell all that well to begin with and stuff aimed at women even more so for the most part, so why take the risk? Pandering to otaku is just easier because they spend tons of money. It's a safer bet with them

So why is Love Stage, the only true fujoshi show in the season, bombing so hard? I know it's early and it may pick up, but it didn't stop other shows like Bakumatsu Rock from doing quite well.

These are updated rankster (google it) rankings calculated from amazon pre-orders, which are usually quite accurate to actual retail sales. The closer to 1 the ranking (first number) the better the chances to actually sell. 1 pt = 1 pre-order. As I said, the prediction may always turn out inaccurate and it may sell really well in retail, but so far for a fujoshi show fujoshi really don't like it.

I think I read the reason somewhere but it wasn't very well explained and I honestly forgot, sorry. Anything in particular you feel like supporting? I'd like to buy Hybrid Child, but I already spent my money on Nakamura manga.

I'm not so sure at the moment. None of the shows in this current season are wowing me so far. Zankyou no Terror is decent, but I'm not sure if I want to drop money on it. Might support it just because I want more Watanabe/Kanno anime.

It's not doing too bad, especially compared to Space Dandy 2. I'd say wait for a couple more episodes and see if it definitely picks up or not, both on your interest and on sales.

Bakumatsu Rock is all things fun. I actually haven't watched a new series in so long, last one was Madoka. It's not a new show, but I'm also interested in watching Bakemonogatari, since I got to watch the first few minutes of the first episode and I was blown away by how movie-like it looked.

Same here. I'm trying to get into anime again, but so far I'm pretty underwhelmed. Might have to check out some older series that I've not gotten around to.

If you're open to 80's/90's series, these are some my favorites:

Versailles no Bara
Slayers (including Next and Try)
Magic Knight Rayearth

I'd also rec Hokuto no Ken, Saint Seiya and 70's stuff like Devilman, but I watched those heavily dubbed and adaptated so I don't know if the originals would live up to my praise.

I'm more than open to them. Those are my decades of preference when it comes to anime. I've seen a bit of Slayers and really enjoyed it. Will have to pick it up and finish it.

Versaille no Bara is on my list of things to watch! Need to get around to it. It is apparently a classic. Considering that Yoroiden Samurai Troopers is one of my favorites, I'm pretty sure Saint Seiya will be right up my alley. Thanks!

Space Dandy 2's a bit of a different case because it's also airing on Adult Swim and doing fairly well there. Disk sales don't matter as much.

Ah, if you're thinking of buying something to bump up a show, overseas sales are not counted. Don't ask why, I forgot the reason but they have zero impact.
