My thoughts exactly. While it admirable that there the two guys got together in the end, that really doesn't mean show is good. People seem to be overlooking the shoddy writing just for that.

I'd been following the show on a week to week basis from the beginning, and I was preeeetty much obsessed with it. That they got together was just the icing on the cake and a pleasant surprise, so no I wasn't overlooking anything for that.

It's not "these characters get married"

It's "these characters are getting married to you, the reader".

There were several different fandoms involved.

Babby's first anime? Official art is always full of fanservice and pandering. Psycho-Pass had an official pic of the MC and the villain caressing each other. In the show MC hated the villain with a burning passion.

You're right that they do quite a lot of... risque art that is pretty OOC for some anime, but marriage artwork IS generally reserved for actual couples.
