I wish there were more believable OCs in fic, and that they wouldn't receive such hate from the majority of readers.

SB: When I write OCs, I sometimes use myself as the starting point/if I was in the show/movie/etc.

Basically I want some good OC fic. And some good self insert. Any recs? Capt, Loki, etc SPN, etc

I agree. I have seen apalling hate thrown my way for defending OCs before. Like sure they were some anons and one trolly user but still it's made me uneasy sometimes about talking about them.

and I sometimes use myself as an inspiration too. I know I have one character who's basically 'me at 10'. and her character includes a LOT of my traits and faults.

If you don't mind a self rec, I've written one OC fic. It's not in you preferred fandoms so I dunno if you'll be interested.

Yeah, some OCs are just clearly self inserted (and poorly done), but some OCs can be wonderful, I read this one fic where the OC was a sensible young woman holding down a reasonable job. She wasn't beautiful per say, but her characterization was fleshed out nicely. I wish I could see more fics like that.

In most of my fics, with some OCs there is usually a little bit of me--a particular fault or strength. But I have to admit, my most recent OC is kind of like the girl I'd like to be if I had fun.

Sweet! I'm glad to hear it. It's always nice to find other fans.

I had alot of fun writing this fic. and when I wrote it I came up with a bunch of stuff I wanted to do with all the canon characters development wise, so I didn't focus too much on the original characters.

I plan on having a lot of character development for Sam because I feel like the show dropped the ball there.

Also the whole subplot with Vlad has a LOT planned.

But yeah...hope you enjoy.
