I feel like I'm too "defensive" of fanfiction. When i'm in a writing community and I see people shitting on all fanfiction writers or some snob talking about how all fanfiction is "shitty" and fanfiction writers are all wasting their time or something or are "horrible scrubs" and I just want to rip into them.

Like I don't have a problem with people acknowledging SOME fanfic can be sucky. But if you hate it and think no one should do it (and have to let EVERYONE know), just fuck off loser.

Every once in a while I run into this tumblr post that goes "Why would you want to be a passive consumer of media??" or something similar, and I just really want to punch whoever wrote that. If you don't get why someone would just want to watch a show/movie/read a book/etc to wind down and decompress, instead of expending energy and peace of mind complaining in a blog that no one will see, I think you have less problems than you think you do.

I still write Harry Potter fanfic, and sometimes feel ashamed because the series ended so long ago. But the Pottermore stuff has made me want to explore again, so I am. But I sometimes feel super awkward about it.

I've never made a secret. Not for lack of desire, but I just plain don't seem to have any secret opinions and a troll secret just doesn't appeal to me.

I seem to be incapable of writing a fic that has Twilight Sparkle as a major character and doesn't raise some form of the question "Is Twilight really capable of being a princess?" I keep addressing it from different angles--could she handle immortality, could she handle power, could she handle being seen as a role model, could she accept that this is what she was meant to do . . . The secret is that I have nothing against Twilicorn, and I think the show itself is raising and positively answering some of the same issues. I just like to approach them more directly.

I have a fic i want to post but I fear no one will read it on account of the ship being small and based on characters that were a good at least 4 or 5seasons ago. All the places I'd post it to are basically dead. :'

I hate a BNF in my fandom more than I have ever hated anyone. She makes a lot of graphics for our fandom, so she's nearly impossible to avoid altogether, but she has the meanest personality and frequently bullies people online. She's been publicly called out for this by more than one person, but it hasn't appeared to have had any effect on her popularity whatsoever.

I wish there were more believable OCs in fic, and that they wouldn't receive such hate from the majority of readers.

SB: When I write OCs, I sometimes use myself as the starting point/if I was in the show/movie/etc.

Basically I want some good OC fic. And some good self insert. Any recs? Capt, Loki, etc SPN, etc

I hate how many of the shows I watch turn into "let's see how much can we make the main characters' lives suck" before the end. Fandom likes to pretend that this is a new phenomenon, but that's because things like Sliders and the last couple of seasons of Highlander the Series have mostly been brain-bleached out of the greater public consciousness.

I've written a couple fics and I kinda want to post them to boost the fandom's productivity and have them out there for the people that might like them. But I feel too unconfident about them to post them despite the time, research and re-writes I've done to them, so they're just gathering dust.

But hearing about this "Ann Marie" character they have planned, I actually really desperately hope that she's meant to be the Colette to Dean's Cain-- because I've been told over and over again that Castiel fits that role, and I even ship Destiel, but I don't see that in the slightest. I don't believe they ever intended that, and I think everyone's scratching for clues that just aren't there so they're coming up with these elaborate headcanons to twist it together.

I do want Dean to be saved. I hope Ann Marie is the one to do it.

Obligatory "unless they kill her off in like three episodes' time" because that is totally a thing that might happen. Their track record with women is basically the worst.
