You know, on one hand I can sort of imagine the people who are already pre-emptively screaming about it are terribly irritating. On the other hand, bi people, and yes guys particularly so, get pretty shit representation in the media - both in quality as in quantity. So you know what: it IS a missed opportunity, if nothing else.

Not screaming, just disappointed that the creative team seems to be missing the point. Openly dealing with Reagan/Thatcher-era homophobia and transphobia was one of the things that the British Invasion brought to DC. While John was presumably straight during the Delano run, he wasn't shy about sticking his neck out for the similarly despised. That wishy-washy statement doesn't offer much hope that we'll actually get our anarchist punk on the screen.

And I think that it's really weird that an Oliver Queen vehicle is looking more progressive than Constantine right now. I can't say I'm inspired to add it to my already packed schedule when my Kindle and video watchlists are full.

I'm actually not up-to-date with Arrow, but I've been told to keep watching by several people.

I'll probably give Constantine a go, see how I like he plot.

And from what I've seen from you, I wouldn't describe you as the screaming type. Maybe tumblr has finally gotten to me, and I'm becoming desensitized to real issues because every non-issue become drama there, I dunno. In any case, I do always find it irksome if they change characters like that.

They've gone to the trouble of explicitly saying that he will not be bisexual because it's not relevent and he didn't sleep with enough men anyway, so no, it's not pre-emptive.
