I told my two good IRL friends I was asexual. This was years ago, when it was still very unknown. They stared at me in surprise, then one of them said, "Well...don't write off sex until you've tried it." I shrugged and grinned and replied, "No rush there, for me!" I don't know why they were so shocked. They knew I was always going on about how pretty certain actors were, and how I just wanted to draw the actors, or hang out and chat, or comb with hair and give them a cookie if they were adorable little kids like the HP cast in early days.

My friends accepted the idea within a couple minutes, probably because they remembered my odd little non-sexual fantasies, and the subject changed, and all was well.

As coming-out goes, that one was very painless. C:
