Ugh, this. I've come to decide that the real issue is friendship is sort of like relationships - everyone wants different things. I was in a group of friends who I had higher expectations of than what was realistic - but the thing is, they were all like that to each other, too. And cool with that, because that's the sort of friendship they wanted. I didn't, so I left the group.
