(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 05:40 am (UTC)(link)In the case of mutants, yes, that's actually a pretty reasonable assumption. Not because they're inherently more prone to deliberate violence than the average person, but because in the world-setting in question, the majority of destructive powers are inherently difficult to control. Most mutants with destructive mutations will, at least once, lose control of that mutation, with frequently devastating consequences, because it's a biological process that is at best linked to a stress response, and at worst something approaching autonomic. They may not intend to, but that doesn't unhurt or unkill anyone they've hurt or killed because they don't know what they're doing, or how to not do it.
