1. I think Linderman and Adam's views are different from Light's and the twins', buuuuut... well, I suppose that doesn't make much of a difference from your perspective, and it could just be construed as a difference in degree rather than a real discrepancy in their ideologies, but NEVERMIND, I'LL SHUT UP NOW, I SWEAR.

Yeah, no I agree. Linderman and Adam's views were radically different from Light's and the twins'. Namely that neither Linderman nor Adam really cared who they killed.

But they all felt they had the right to make the decisions they did for the good of humanity and hearing people agree with them all is equally frightening.

Yeah, that. |D; GOOD, my brain wasn't spewing quite as much insanity as it usually does.

I think... how to phrase this? The reason why so many people "agree" with them is because it's such an attractive fantasy. When everything seems so glorified and, in the case of Linderman, Light, and Adam, there's that supernatural tilt to it all, it becomes even easier to fall for it. People don't really tend to examine things deeper than that, even when in MOST of those cases, we're faced with rather astounding evidence as to why these really aren't good ideas. And, I dunno. It's nice to think that everything could be "fixed" by taking radical action like those characters do, but it can't.

Uh, in short, humans are romantic, idealistic, and incredibly stupid creatures that prefer easy, pretty solutions to complicated problems. I'm not cynical, I swear. D:
