Of course it's not the only thing. Of course I agree that there is evil in the world and bad people that do bad things, of course. I know that there are people who kill, rape and steal. I know that there are people that drown babies and chop women into pieces and blow up fathers of young children. I know there are wars and genocides people who sell heroin to 14 year olds. And I agree that these people should be punished.

However, hearing from kids I went to high school with that they would probably choose to kill 93% of the world's population because "the human race is no good for the planet anyway," and hearing from next door neighbors that they support the mass killing of everyone they thought might be a criminal thusly creating a world crippled by fear, hearing all of this from people I know well and generally consider to be good people, hearing this from people that I interact with everyday is quite scary.

Maybe not to you, but obviously, it is to me.

Honestly, it's mostly those people who've already lost faith in humanity that say those kinda things. And in a way I can't blame them, sometimes. I understand where you're coming from, but... I dunno, maybe I'm just jaded enough that it doesn't bother me.
