Re: Attempting a no-shampoo run on my hair

I do this. It does take a bit of time for your scalp to sort itself out, but it's worth it when you realize that by doing this you don't need to wash your hair every day.

Stick it out for a week. If you're really really suffering, just use running water and a very good towel-drying to take off some of the oil; it's far less drying to your scalp than using a shampoo.

You really want to also make sure that what you're using it sodium laureth sulfate-free or there's really no point to what you're doing.

ayrt

How would you say the results for you have been? Noticeable difference?

And yes, I had to shop around for a while before I found a conditioner that was both silicone and sulfate free, but I managed it!

Very noticeable. I no longer "have" to shower every day. I'm a pretty greasy guy, but I can wash my hair every other day with no ill effects now... it actually tends to look better on day 2 than it does on day 1.

My face also breaks out less, but that might not be a problem for everyone. Stick with it for a bit, it'll get better after a few weeks at most.
