I think the insistence on calling her Kou is silly, too. She's not a real girl, so it really doesn't matter what you call her, it is impossible to offend her because she's not real. Meanwhile, though, everyone on the show calls her Gou, so it would kind of be odd to call her by a name only she goes by, personally.

Name preferences don't even need to be part of the conversation because she's not a person. "Gou" is what is most often used in the canon so that's what it makes sense for fandom to use. And that is what most of fandom uses.
